Who you'll work with
You work directly with an experienced developer and architect. The person who designs your software is the person who builds it, so you won't have to explain your business twice or wonder whether your ideas survived a handoff.
We start by asking why: why the work is done the way it is, why a change is needed now, and what a good result would look like for your business. Then we keep the solution as simple as the problem allows.
We also respect what's already there. The spreadsheets, systems, and workarounds you rely on were built by people solving real problems, and they usually hold knowledge worth keeping.

Bunch Consulting Is Incorporated
Our story began with clients asking us back. Early software projects grew into lasting relationships and new opportunities, leading to the incorporation of Bunch Consulting, Inc. in 1999.

2008
Investing in How We Build
We dedicated time to advancing our internal development tools and architecture. That investment helped establish a consistent, reusable approach to building software, with patterns that continue to support our work today.

2016–2017
Becoming Software KC
In 2016, we introduced Software KC as a DBA of Bunch Consulting, Inc. In 2017, we established Software KC, LLC, carrying forward the experience and client relationships built over the preceding years.

2023–2024
Advancing Code Mason
Beginning in late 2023, we renewed our focus on Software KC and invested in Code Mason, our development tool. By automating repeatable work and building our architectural standards into the development process, Code Mason helped us deliver consistent, maintainable software more efficiently.

2025
Bringing Custom SaaS Within Reach
We introduced AI integrations alongside our platform, which provides shared security, single sign-on, organization management, and subscription management. Together with Code Mason, the platform made custom SaaS applications practical without rebuilding those foundations for every project.

Putting the Platform to Work
We expanded the platform and began onboarding its first customer. We also integrated AI into Web Mason, continuing to improve how we turn business needs into working applications.
Why we do it
The decision to build software usually comes down to return on investment, and it should. But that isn't why we do this work. We do it because of what it changes for people.
Sometimes it takes a weight off an owner who has been carrying every detail. Sometimes it means less stress for the staff who were bridging the gaps by hand. The side effects add up: fewer mistakes, less turnover, happier customers, and, when sales support it, room for the business to grow.
That's also why we care about long-term relationships and software other developers can maintain. The difference it makes should outlast the project.
